Help shape the future of health and care in Dorset as an Associate Non-Executive Director

The Dorset General Practice Alliance and Dorset Healthcare are pleased to advertise an Associate Non-Executive Director (Associate NED) role.

This remunerated role offers a unique opportunity to act as the formal primary care voice on the Board of Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust, representing the interests and perspectives of the Dorset General Practice Alliance and general practice across Dorset.

As a non-voting Board member, the postholder will help shape strategic decisions, provide constructive challenge, and ensure the impact of service changes on primary care is fully considered.

The role has been created as part of a partnership agreement between Dorset HealthCare and the Alliance to strengthen collaboration across primary care, community, mental health, and wider NHS services, supporting the development of neighbourhood-based, integrated models of care.

The successful candidate will bring senior leadership experience, a strong understanding of the challenges facing primary care, and the ability to influence system-wide decision-making, while championing improved population health, reducing inequalities, and enhancing outcomes for Dorset residents through closer partnership working across the health and care system.

The Alliance is seeking nominations from individuals who are interested in this role. You will need to be able to represent the collective voice of the Alliance and primary care across Dorset.

If you are interested in the role, please submit your CV and a covering letter detailing why you are applying for this role and how you meet the requirements set out in the information pack and person specification below to the Alliance at dgpa@dorsetgp.nhs.uk by 27 November 2026.

Applications after this date will not be accepted.

Shortlisting will take place week commencing 30th November and interviews from first two weeks of December.
